David pruning in the bleak winter- all 50,00 vines
are pruned by hand. |

Pruning takes many long cold months
in the wind and rain! |

Jo tying down the canes in spring to the trellising
wires. This plot of Syrah vines is called 'Ancient
Renault '- see the old rusty car in the corner! |
|

Mark and David re-trellising (when
necessary) in late spring to
support the canopy |

Summer tractor work - mowing to
reduce competition from weeds in the row,
mechanical trimming the canopy to expose the fruit
to the sun. We avoid the use of chemical sprays,
only using the minimum when necessary. |

Youngest member of the family
'helping' leaf strip
by hand,
allowing the sun ripen the grapes. |
|

Jody hand harvesting the Chardonnay
into small crates (to avoid the juicing of the
grapes and oxidation of the juice). This is done as
early in the day as possible, particularly with the
white varieties, when it is cooler.
|

Jo and David B collecting the picking crates from
the vines to load the trailer for transporting to
the winery. |

At the winery the first step is to
un-load the grapes into de-stemmer. This separates
the berries from the stems before triage. |

Inside the de-stemmer! |

Again, the youngest member of the family likes to
'help' - clearing the stems from the back of the
de-stemmer. Maybe a future winemaker?? |
