In the Press

1. Daily Record 1st December, Graeme White
Domaine La Bouscade Chardonnay £8.99 - Creative Wines

This excellent wine was recently voted best VdP Chardonnay in France and won a top award at the London International Wine & Spirit Fair. Made by talented winemaker David Cowderoy and his wife, Jo, it is smartly presented in a modern screw-top bottle. Very much an all round wine suitable for drinks parties and fine cuisine alike. BEST BUY.

2. La Bouscade Chardonnay at Odette's  mentioned in the Financial Times (2 Nov 2007) 'Lunch with the FT: Martin Amis'  www.ft.com

3. French Entree: http://www.frenchentree.com/fe-wemadeit/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=34203

4. The Independent, 7th July 07,  Anthony Rose:
"...the intense, oatmealy 2006 La Bouscade Chardonnay, made by David Cowderoy in the Languedoc, around £7.99, Sussex Wine Co (01323 431143), Creative Wines, Stirling (01786 471365)."

5. Wine Review - Wine Library New York:

"After many years as a consulting winemaker, David Cowderoy finally bought a plot of land deep in the heart of the Minervois region of France. Here, he is crafting wines of unusual elegance and finesse, wines that stand out and assert their own character and individuality. With a deft touch of oak, these bottles are lovely expressions of both their terroirs and their winemaker's skills. David is crafting some beautiful, well-balanced, medium-to-big bodied reds from Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache and old-vine Carignan. We think this is an up and coming winery, one to keep your eyes on. La Bouscade's Les Septs Vents is a beautiful rendition of Syrah, a surprisingly elegant and fresh wine redolent of black cherries, pepper, black currant and blueberries, with a hint of oak to add some stuffing and give it some nice body."

"I have been increasingly fed up with New World wines and it is fantastic to return to France and find such quality and depth of flavour; in fact I would go so far as to say that if I never drink any wine other than La Bouscade I would die a happy man."
Mr A, nr Bath, UK.

"It's something I like to call the "thrill of discovery". And I can happily say that it happened to me the other day, when I tasted a bunch of samples from a winery, Chateau La Bouscade. There, winemaker David Cowderoy is crafting some beautiful, well-balanced, medium-to-big bodied reds from Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and old-vine Carignan."

"... we finally made it to Chateau La Bouscade. And we're so glad we did! First of all, they are a charming, warm and welcoming couple. Secondly, the wine was delicious!
First we tasted their rosé, which tasted like ripe, summer raspberries with a bit of vanilla. We drink a lot of rosé in the summer, and this could become our new favorite.
The next three were all reds;
The soft, blackcurrant and redcurrant Château la Bouscade AOC Minervois 2005
An intense, black cherry, light vanilla Château la Bouscade Syrah AOC Minervois 2005
And the rich plummy, smoky Domaine la Bouscade Old Vine Carignan 2005

What was supposed to be a quick tasting turned into a three hour long enjoyable afternoon of wine and conversation. We'll be going back soon!

 Chateau La Bouscade Rosé:
"The nose is a summer fruit cocktail of raspberries and cherries with a hint of thyme, and a real lightness of touch that dances across the tongue. Ripe, with a beautiful balance, crisp acidity and layers of flavour this is a wine that combines a serious structure with a playful personality. At ease equally in “jeans” as an aperitif with friends, or in a "tux” at more formal dinner occasions. Another winner from this impressive family run estate."
